The Prawl Family Blog is Back!

Friday, August 29th, 2008

It’s been nearly a year since I managed to break the software, but finally I figured out a way to restore it, and now it’s back! Thank goodness for backup files, because I had to simply delete it and start over with a new installation to make it work. Meanwhile, lots has been going on. Phil and I bought a house in St. Joe and then went south for the winter, but since we returned in May we’ve been hard at work getting it fixed up. But as well as housework, with some help from a few family members I’ve been making corrections and additions to the Prawl family tree in my database, and with just a little more work it will be ready for distribution.

So, should we try to get organized and start thinking about a family reunion next summer? If we do it right, it could take a few months to let everyone know and make plans for what to do. Last year when we met at TIm’s it was really great, and a wonderful place for a family gathering.  We will be in town for at least a few more weeks, so give us a call (to make sure we’re around) and come see us! Phil’s old 321 phone number still works, and may be the best way to reach us.

See you soon!

Excuses…

In case you’ve been wondering why I’ve been so slow about posting pictures, the family tree chart, etc. from the family reunion here, I’ve got a link to show you about one thing that got in the way of that. This is a video of the panel discussion I participated in late in August in Chicago. Of course, we also recently bought a house in St. Joseph, and are in the (very slow) process of getting moved in, which is taking more time away from more desk-bound activities like editing slideshows. There’s more about that on my personal blog, so if you’re interested, surf on over to have a look. Y’all come see us in our new house! We actually have some chairs there now, so you don’t have to sit on the floor.

New Blog Location

I’ve reinstalled WordPress, using the latest version now, and it seems to function much better. I can create new categories, and edit blog entries, which hadn’t worked on the previous install. So, I’m going to move the blog I started the WordPress website to this site. There are only a couple of entries there, so it won’t be any big deal.

The only downside is that comments left on the wordpress.com site won’t be carried over here. Sorry!
